Long Day

Started off day, with the intent of finding a frame for cheap. While waiting for Lou in Chinatown, I came up with the ingenious idea of going to the poster store in Seaport, to buy a poster then take out the poster and just use the frame. So, while waiting for Lou, photo moments came up, and being a documenter of life, I decided to do so.

All shots taken at Columbus Park. TimBuk2, come and give me a advertisement deal you know i even have a tag line. TimBuk2, made for the Concrete Jungle. When Lou finally arrived, we headed off to Seaport making the occasional stop to take a photo. This being one of them. Then when we go to Seaport, decided to act like tourist taking photos and such. Here’s a shot i took of Lou, we made a deal, I’m his exclusive photographer for facebook profile photos.

So, at Seaport, we met up with Allen, Allen being the residential frame expert, came and told me what i should get and how it should be. Spending some time at the store, Beyond the Wall, we found the correct frame size, 24×36, then we needed a matte, started calling places, found a place in Chelsea called Chelsea Frames. Could get the matte for like 22, i was like aiight, we in there like swimwear. Go back to Beyond the Wall to get the frame, touched it, and realized bitch was beveled. Aww man like wtf, thats not cool, not pro. So we go to Chealsea, to go the the frame store, hoping to find a good price, for frame and matte. Get there start asking, they say like 2 to 300 dollars, and i was out the door before they could finish their sentence. So brokenhearted we were deciding what to do. Allen had noticed a frame shop earlier, which is good, soo we went. Itd cost 135 to frame it and everything. So thats a decent price, in the framing community. We decide to go to Pearl, check out what we can do, and then buy the matte there. Finally in the end we decided that we were just going to do the 135 at the brown guy’s place. So im spending over 200 for this contest. I am really hoping i win, also that it will get my name out there in the photo community.

Guys come and support me on March 13, 2008 at the Sac Gallery at 5:30 – 7:30 is the opening reception for the contest, where the winner will also be annouced, hopefully i place, get a prize.

Anyway, been listening to Miles Davis while i was writing this entry, and I have got to say, it so much easier to write and think with this music. Usually i would usually be listening to music with lyrics and sometimes mid sentence i would start singing the song, and accidentally typing it. But with Jazz, it’s like I’m writing and its clear to me what i want to write. It is as if i were typing along to the song, and making it seem as if these were the words.

Edit: Mama Cafe

After going back to Chinatown to check out Pearl and deciding not to go back up to Chelsea, we went to Mama Cafe on Mulberry Street across the street from Columbus Park.  The interior design screams “A tacky Asian Designed me”.  The things are a bit overpriced for Chinatown standards, and they don’t taste that great.  Well the sandwiches are actually pretty decent, but not them drinks.  Aside from the food and the decor, the majority of their customers are little high school kids.

Most of them trying to out “cool” the other one, by cursing more, saying parts of the female anatomy were punched.  I felt really odd in this place.  I guess i have grown up and matured to see that all that shit wasnt cool.

So to end it off, I would like to apologize to all who have heard me talking while i was in High School on the Train, in a restaurant, or anywhere, i am sorry i realized i probably sounded like a fucking idiot.

God Bless
